Judy has over 30 years experience in the forest industry. She has worked extensively in both native forests and plantations, across numerous States of Australia across both the public and private sectors. She has a Bachelor of Science (Forestry) from the ANU, Graduate Diploma in Applied Science (Parks, Recreation and Heritage) from Charles Sturt University and a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
Throughout her career, as an operational forester, she has had experience in most aspects of commercial forestry and multiple-use forests. In 2012, she established her own consulting company, Foresa Consulting Pty Ltd. In this, she has managed plantation resources for a number of clients, she undertakes mapping work for clients, performs audits against various standards and has built and assisted companies with management systems. She also prepares timber harvest plans and assists small growers in getting their wood harvested and to market. She has assisted over 40 organisations obtain certification to various standards and helps many of them retain their certification.
Judy has prepared a large number of Management Plans across her career and worked in the development of and reporting against Regional Forest Agreements in a number of Australian States.
Judy has been a board member of various industry committees including Responsible Wood, Trees Victoria, Australian Forest Growers and Institute of Foresters of Australia. She has also been a member of various Standard Development Committees for FSC and Responsible Wood Certification Standards. She is a voting member of FSC Australia and Forestry Australia. She is also a Registered Professional Forester as a General Practising Forester with recognised skills in Forest Certification.
